In the 1990s, we—the brothers Sabri and Zeki Gülenc—gained experience in the window construction industry. This involved both the technical aspects of the trade and the management of a business. During this time, the desire grew to establish our own company in the window sector.
This led to the founding of Sabri Gülenc’s sole proprietorship in Dortmund in 1998, with a retail location on Brakeler Hellweg 1. Initially, with two additional employees, we focused solely on the sale and installation of windows and doors.
In 2000, we expanded our operations by beginning the production of our own plastic windows at Beratgerstr. 26 in Dortmund-Dorstfeld. Our success in the market was so significant that our facilities quickly became too small.
In 2003, we took a big leap and moved to Martener Hellweg 35. It was a “big leap” because we acquired 1,500 m² of production and storage space.
That same year, we transitioned to Gülenc Fenster und Türen GmbH. We have since specialized and established ourselves firmly in the market for high-quality plastic windows and aluminum products for doors and windows. This also applies to conservatories, terrace roofs, and roller shutters. However, we have not lost sight of the markets in Poland and Turkey for more budget-friendly options.
In 2015, we built new, larger, and more modern buildings at the same address. During this time, we also introduced and protected our own brand “winfens,” which has since successfully established itself in the market.
