Küçükler Kitabevi was founded in 1997 with the goal of meeting the book needs of the Turkish community living in the Netherlands. From the very beginning, our mission has been to connect people with stories, knowledge, and culture in their native language — no matter where they live.

Over our more than 14 years of commercial life, we have experienced important transformations. One of the biggest steps was taken five years ago when we integrated kitap.nl into our structure. This allowed us to reach customers who could not visit our physical bookstore. Instead of waiting for you to come to us, we brought the bookstore directly to your doorstep. The warm welcome and trust we received from our valued customers proved that this was the right decision.

We proudly hold the distinction of being the first online bookstore in the Netherlands to sell Turkish books. From our early days to today, we have continuously evolved while preserving our original identity and values.

In 2001, our beloved “Uncle Kemal,” driven by a deep passion for books, founded the first-ever Turkish online book sales platform in the Netherlands. He never saw books as mere printed pages — for him, each book was a gateway to a new world. Over the years, he touched the lives of countless readers, connecting people with the most beautiful stories and the most valuable knowledge.

We — two women entrepreneurs with a shared love for literature — inherited this legacy with pride and responsibility. Our mission is to expand the world that Uncle Kemal built with love and effort, reaching more readers across the Netherlands and beyond. Because we know that books are more than just paper and ink; they are friends who understand us, guide us, and sometimes simply warm our hearts.
