Patara’s boutique hotels will make you feel at home.

The 18 km long Patara Beach is so vast and serene that you will never feel disturbed by crowds. Due to its width, tranquility, and large sand dunes, Patara Beach has been used as a backdrop for desert scenes in Yeşilçam films in the past. Patara awaits you with its unique natural beauty, history, and hospitable residents.

Patara Beach is one of the rare nesting areas for large sea turtles (caretta-caretta). Our beach is under the protection of the Special Environmental Protection Board, and Hacettepe University provides measures to facilitate the turtles’ nesting conditions with a dedicated team. These rare creatures are at risk of extinction.

Must-See Places and Activities:

Canoe Tour on the Xanthos River: An ideal activity to cool off and engage actively with nature on hot summer days. You can join our canoe tours from Patara every day. The Xanthos River starts from the Saklikent Canyon and meets the Mediterranean in the middle of Patara Beach. The cool waters from Saklikent Canyon will provide a refreshing experience and an unforgettable day. Our canoe guides are highly experienced and trained. The tour starts with pickup from the hotel, arrival at the starting point, a brief material distribution, and a practical canoe course, followed by a day of paddling through refreshing waters. The tour includes mud baths, grill breaks, and other short stops.

Kekova: A day tracing the mystery of the sunken city…
A historical journey to the submerged parts of ancient Simena city, Kaleköy, and St. Nicholas Church in Demre. An unmissable opportunity to see the magnificent integration of history and nature today. A lunch at charming restaurants overlooking the various boats and yachts moored at wooden docks, along with a boat trip to the sunken city, will ensure a full day of exploration. The famous Christian figure, Saint Nicholas, was born in Patara and served humanity at the church in Demre, which is now preserved as a museum. The rock tombs, amphitheater, and Saint Nicholas Church in Demre are must-see highlights.

Saklikent Canyon: A day witnessing the power of nature
Saklikent Canyon stretches between Patara and Fethiye like a sharp knife cut, delving up to 30 kilometers into the Taurus Mountains. The canyon’s walls rise up to 300 meters in places. In some areas, the walls are so close together that daylight barely enters. To enjoy a day in the canyon, you need sturdy sports shoes and a lot of attention. Sometimes you will climb rocks, and sometimes you will advance by jumping. The cold spring waters emerging from the base of the canyon walls provide coolness and life to the entire area. Dining at the trout restaurants at the entrance of the canyon will make your holiday memorable.

Kalkan: A charming coastal town 15 km from Patara, offering all the amenities of a city easily accessible from Patara. Kalkan has gained a distinguished position on the Mediterranean coast due to the high demand from British tourists in recent years. Kalkan has a large number of cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops. We particularly recommend walking through the narrow streets of Kalkan and spending a few hours in one of its cafes overlooking the harbor.

Fethiye: Located 70 km from Patara, Fethiye is a medium-sized port town. It offers a balance between touristy and local vibes, making it suitable for both visitors and locals. It’s delightful to drink and relax in cafes along the port and quay. In the city, you can find gifts or clothing brands suitable for any budget at modern shops or local markets. We highly recommend visiting the shipyards in the Karagözler district, Ölüdeniz, and Kayaköy in Fethiye.
