Aikido is a path that helps individuals live in harmony and balance with their surroundings, deeply understand life, and cultivate respect for themselves and others. Practitioners of Aikido become aware of their part in cosmic unity and, by respecting this unity, learn not to view those who attack them as enemies. This approach reflects a universal love that transcends the ego. Aikido should not be seen merely as a fighting technique or a self-defense sport; such an understanding indicates a lack of grasp of Aikido’s true meaning. Aikido is concerned with combating through creativity and achieving harmony with nature, rather than ego-driven games of victory and defeat.
Sevgi Aikido Sports Club was established on December 21, 2002, on Sarayardı Street, Acıbadem. The facility, known as a “Dojo,” covers approximately 250 square meters and is designed according to international standards based on Japanese and American systems.
