Since I’ve been operating a used motor grader for the past few months, I’ve started noticing an issue with the moldboard lift and circle movement. At the start of the shift, the grader responds normally, but after several hours of continuous grading—especially during heavy cutting or side casting—the hydraulic response becomes noticeably slow.
I’ve already checked the hydraulic oil level, and it is within the correct range. There are no visible hose leaks, and the hydraulic filters were replaced during the last service interval. Engine performance remains normal, but the blade lift and articulation functions feel weak after prolonged use.
Could this issue be related to hydraulic overheating, worn control valves, weak relief valves, or pump efficiency loss? Has anyone experienced similar hydraulic performance problems on a used motor grader and found the root cause?
Any guidance or shared experience would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
