I’m honestly scared to take my car to just anyone after my last experience

I’ve been putting off dealing with my car’s transmission issues for weeks now because I’m genuinely traumatized by what happened the last time I took it to a garage. I’ve got a 2014 A6 that started having some rough shifts a few months ago, and I took it to a place that had decent reviews online thinking it would be a straightforward fix. Long story short, they had my car for over a week, charged me a small fortune, and when I got it back, the problem was still there. In fact, it was even worse than before. When I took it back to complain, they gave me the runaround and basically blamed me for the issue, saying it was normal wear and tear and that they had done everything they could. I was so frustrated and angry, but I didn’t have the energy to fight them or take them to court or anything like that. I just took my car and left, vowing never to go back there again. But now I’m stuck with a car that still has transmission problems and I have no idea where to take it. I’ve lost all trust in garages, especially the ones that claim to work on all makes and models but clearly don’t have the expertise for German cars. I’m terrified of going through the same experience again, spending a ton of money and getting no results. I’ve been doing a lot of research this time around because I refuse to make the same mistake twice. I’m looking for a place that actually specializes in Audis and has a proven track record of fixing transmission issues properly. I’ve seen some recommendations online for a reliable automatic gearbox service in Abu Dhabi that seems to have a really good reputation among Audi owners. I’m thinking of giving them a try because I’ve read several positive reviews from people who had similar issues and were happy with the work. But honestly, I’m still so nervous. How do you really know if a shop is trustworthy before you hand over your car? I’ve been burned before and I can’t afford to go through that again, both financially and emotionally. Has anyone else had a bad experience with a garage and then found a good one that actually fixed the problem? How did you rebuild your trust and how did you know they were the right choice? I really need some guidance because I’m stuck in this cycle of needing to fix my car but being too scared to actually take it anywhere. Any advice would be so appreciated because I’m honestly feeling pretty hopeless about the whole situation. Thanks for reading and for any help you can offer.
